July 1 marks the beginning of a brand-new fiscal year at UU Asheville. While many people see July as the start of summer adventures, I see it as the start of a fresh budget, new spreadsheets, and the satisfying moment when all the numbers reset. I realize that most don’t find that exciting and I also know several out there in the congregation that do!

Thankfully, a new fiscal year is about much more than numbers. It’s a chance to begin another chapter together supporting our ministries, caring for one another, welcoming new faces, and continuing the work that makes this congregation such a special community.

As we head into the Fourth of July weekend, I hope you find time to rest, laugh, enjoy good food, and spend time with the people who matter most. Whether your plans include fireworks, a backyard cookout, a quiet hike, or simply enjoying a slower pace, I hope the weekend leaves you refreshed.

Thank you for everything you do to make UUAvl the vibrant, compassionate, and welcoming place it is. I’m looking forward to all we’ll accomplish together in this new fiscal year.
