2026-27 Faith Formation Registration is Open!
Though we have just begun our summer programming, it’s time to register for the fall! Your faith formation staff are making plans for next year and you can help us out by registering ASAP. Registering helps us know how many kids to expect and helps us keep everyone safe and in the loop. When you register, you will also receive monthly emails from me about what’s happening in family ministry and K-12 faith formation.Â
We are happy to announce that we’ll be offering Coming of Age (9th grade), Crossing Paths/World Religions (7th/8th grades) and 2 OWL classes (K-1st grades and 4th-5th grades) this year, as well as our regular Soul Matters programming for K-6th grade and YRUU for high schoolers.Â
As always, we can’t do this awesome program without you! We especially need folks who do not have young children at home to sign up to serve in Faith Formation. Our program is successful because the WHOLE congregation takes part in serving our children and youth, who will carry our flame into the future. When everyone helps out, our parents are able to serve the congregation in other ways, which means their voices are heard in all matters, not just children and youth programs. Our cooperative program benefits greatly from building relationships among all generations. We will host a fun and informative training for all of our collaborators on Saturday, August 22. To sign up, reach out to me at lrec@uuasheville.org or Jen at lreasst@uuasheville.org if you would like to work with high school-aged youth.
We’ve had two Sundays of stories in Summer Faith Formation’s ‘Story Summer’ so far, but we’ll be taking a break from stories this Sunday to bring back a beloved tradition – Cinnamon Roll Sunday! All children and youth are invited to participate, and we could use some extra adult helpers too. Bring your own apron and rolling pin!
