Membership classes are generally held four times a year, and are led by our Minister, The Rev. Mark Ward, our Membership Coordinator, and the Membership Committee. They are held on Saturday mornings or afternoons. Notices of upcoming classes are announced in the newsletter and the calendar of events, and sign-up sheets are available in Sandburg Hall. Childcare at no cost to participants is available upon request.
The class consists of a brief introduction to Unitarian Universalism and the forming of the Asheville UU community and how we are organized. We discuss why we have come here and the meaning of Membership and Friendship at UUCA. After an open question & answer session, we have a brief tour of the facilities. An opportunity to join the community as a Member or Friend is available during the class.
Beginning in the fall of 2008, a free meal will be served to all participants and their children. This will allow all to get to know one another a bit better.
