Bylaws
Our Bylaws state in Article IV, Section 2.

A Member is a person who

• Is in sympathy with the purpose and mission set forth in Article II
• Has reached the age of 16
• Has completed a course of study approved by the Board of Trustees or has discussed the matter with the Minister or person designated by the Minister,
• Has signed the Membership Book,
• Has made an annual, recorded financial contribution or has fulfilled a service contribution approved by the Board or the Minister.

Article II of the Bylaws states:

The purpose of this Church is to create a supportive, caring community in which to pursue religious, ethical and spiritual growth. Members covenant together to affirm and promote:

• Acceptance and support of one another, unhindered by such arbitrary criteria as race or ethnic heritage, gender, age, status, physical restriction or sexual orientation
• A free and responsible search for truth and meaning
• The inherent worth and dignity of every person
• Justice, equity and compassion in human relations
• Freedom of conscience and the use of the democratic process within the Church and in society at large
• The goal of a world community with peace, liberty and justice for all
• A deep sense of human kinship with, and respect for, the interdependent web of all existence

A Friend of the church
Occasionally a person may not desire to be a member and may be designated a friend according to our Bylaws.

Article IV, Section 7

A friend of the Church is a person, 16 years of age or older

• Chooses not to be a member
• Identifies him/her self as a friend of the Church
• Is in sympathy with the purpose and mission set forth in Article II
• Makes an annual recorded financial contribution to the Church

A friend is entitled to all the services of the Church, including speaking at meetings, but cannot vote.
