Religious Education Teachers
All of our Religious Education Teachers are volunteers who generously donate their time and talents to support our children and youth. They work from Unitarian Universalist Association curricula (while incorporating their own ideas and gifts) to plan lessons and teach classes on Sunday mornings, and they also attend a teacher training and periodic meetings. Their teaching is a labor of love, and without their services, our Religious Education program could not exist. We thank our teachers for their commitment, and invite any interested congregant to share their gifts with young people by taking a turn in the classroom. Contact the Religious Education Staff or Committee members for more information.
Family Volunteers
All Religious Education families are also expected to support the program with their energy and time by actively volunteering. At least one member of each Religious Education family is expected to fulfill a regular, active volunteer commitment. Make sure to check volunteer opportunities that interest you on the back of your registration form. Many fulfilling opportunities exist to fit our families’ different schedules and interests. You may also contact the Religious Education Staff or Committee member to get more information on Religious Education volunteering.
Religious Education Committee
The Religious Education Committee is comprised of volunteers who share an interest in shaping the vision, goals, and plans for our children’s and youth programming. The committee has a broad range of responsibilities for our Religious Education program, from articulating our philosophy, goals, and policies to overseeing the logistics of classes, programs, and events. The Committee meets monthly for two hours the second Thursday of the month at 6pm. Check the Calendar to confirm date, time and location. Interested congregants are welcome to attend meetings or submit agenda items. Agenda items are due one week before each meeting.
Contact the Religious Education Staff if you are interested in serving on the Religious Education Committee.
